Capturée en Islande, Freya est morte le 20 juin 2015 à l’âge très précoce de 33 ans. La manifestation du 12 juillet sera dédiée à cette nouvelle victime de l’Industrie de la Captivité.

Le Marineland d’Antibes, c’est SeaWorld en France. Dès le début, en 1969, les deux entreprises nouent des liens étroits : c’est SeaWorld qui capture Calypso puis Clovis, Betty, Kim et d’autres encore, tous morts depuis longtemps. Mais ce sont aussi les même shows qu’à SeaWorld, les mêmes drames, les mêmes agressions, les mêmes médicaments, les mêmes vilains secrets que nous révèlent le film « Blackfish » et le livre « Beneath the surface ».

Aux USA, SeaWorld est en train de couler. La dernière déclaration du champion de surf Kelly Slater l’enfonce un peu plus. De façon presque irrémédiable, SeaWorld devra un jour se résoudre à déplacer ses orques dans un lagon de retraite. Le règne des delphinariums touche à sa fin aux USA et dans d’autres pays qui les ont déjà interdits.

L’engouement pour les spectacles de dauphins nous est venu de Floride dans les années 60.
Flipper en fut l’ambassadeur. Aujourd’hui, la vague contraire de l’Effet Blackfish, portée par Tilikum, s’apprête à submerger l’Europe. Déjà, les premières vagues lèchent le pied du Parc Astérix et de Planète Sauvage. Bientôt, ce sera l’un des deux seuls delphinariums d’Europe à garder encore des orques en bocal qui devra y faire face : le Marineland d’Antibes.

Il n’est pas question ici de jugement, d’opinion, de « pour ou contre » ou de demi-mesures.
L’évidence est là, proclamée dès 1970 par Ric O’Barry, et qui pénètre enfin la conscience du public : la captivité des cétacés est cruelle, inutile, anti-pédagogique et totalement indéfendable sur le plan éthique.

Le 12 juillet prochain, Ric O’Barry, John Hargrove, Ilaria Ferri et Pierre Robert Delatour se tiendront à nos côtés pour réclamer une France, une Europe, un monde sans delphinarium.

Au nom de Freya qui vient de mourir à 33 ans loin des eaux islandaises qu’elle n’aurait jamais du quitter, au nom des 27 dauphins morts dans les piscines du Marineland et de ceux qui y survivent encore, merci de nous rejoindre à Antibes et de faire de cette manifestation un évènement historique.

Antibes Marineland, this is SeaWorld in France. The two companies are linked from the beginning: this is SeaWorld who captured Calypso for Marineland in 1969 then Clovis, Betty, Kim and others, all dead for long. And it’s also almost the same show and the same ugly secrets that reveal « Blackfish » the movie and « Beneath the surface » the book.

Now, SeaWorld is sinking in the US. The last declaration of Kelly Slater may bring it the fatal thrust. The company is already exhausted, under the battering of « Blackfish ». Irremediably, SeaWorld will be obliged to move its orcas in a retirement lagoon. The reign of dolphinariums is coming to an end in the US and other countries which have already banned these aquatic circuses.

In the early 60s, the popularity of this dolphin shows came to us from Florida. Flipper was its ambassador. Today, the opposite wave of Blackfish Effect is about to overwhelm Europe. Already the first waves lick the foot of the Parc Asterix and Planète Sauvage. But soon, one of the only two dolphinariums in Europe still keeping orcas, the Antibes Marineland, will be also cope with it.

This is not a question of judgment or opinion.
It is a scientific evidence, proclaimed since 1970 by Ric O’Barry and that finally enters the mind of the largest audience: captivity is cruel, useless, unethical and non-educational.

On July 12 2015, Ric O’Barry, John Hargrove, Ilaria Ferri and Pierre Robert Delatour will stand by our sides to claim for a France, an Europe, a World without cetacean slavery and murders.
On behalf of Freya who dreams about her native Icelandic waters and of all Russian orcas who are captured today, in the name of the 27 dolphins died in jail and of those that still survive, thank for joining us and making this demo an historical event.
